Cookies & Privacy

This page is maintained by the Market Crash team to explain what is stored on your device and why. Nothing here is legal advice — if you need formal compliance copy for a specific jurisdiction, replace this text with wording approved by your counsel.

What we store

Session cookie (strictly necessary)
Keeps you signed in so a live game can identify you across the server and your browser. Cannot be disabled — without it, nothing works.
Device ID cookie (functional, optional)
A random identifier (e.g. a1b2c3d4-…) saved in a cookie called mc_device_id for up to 12 months. The server uses it to keep an anonymous tally of games played, games won and your highest net worth on this browser. There is no name, email or IP attached to it.
Consent record (strictly necessary)
A cookie called mc_consent remembering which categories you accepted, so we don't ask again on every visit.
Analytics (optional)
Aggregate, privacy-friendly usage stats (page views, sessions). We use these to see what works. No advertising profiles. No third-party trackers.

What we do NOT do

  • No advertising cookies or ad networks.
  • No selling or sharing data with third parties for marketing.
  • No tracking you across other websites.

Your choices

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time:

Turning off functional cookies deletes the mc_device_id cookie immediately. Your existing aggregated stats on the server remain tied to that old ID and will simply no longer be visible to you.
